Delta 31-250 Drum Sander Review

A short review of my new to me drum sander. This Delta 31-250 is a cantilevered 18 inch drum sander from the early 2000’s. I got a great deal on it and was in such good shape I had to pick it up!

Some specs:

* 1-1/2HP 120V single phase motor
* Drum speed 2210 or 330 RPM
* Conveyor speed 1-12 FPM
* Maximum thickness 4″
* Minimum thickness 1/32″
* Minimum length 7″
* Feed motor 1/3HP

Uses standard 2 inch by 137 inch sanding tape

Hey there, I recently bought a used one of these, as well, seems to work great except that the speed adjustment knob is missing (the screw is there). The guy had been using a screwdriver to adjust the speed. but it’s pretty stripped. I have found a replacement knob online, but I don’t see how it attaches to the screw? Any insight on this? Just trying to figure out if it’s worth buying the knob, which it will be if there’s a way for me to attach it to the machine. The screw itself doesn’t seem to be listed as a separate part, so I assume it must be part of the switch box assembly?
