I’m a little disappointed to hear that John Deere stopped producing push mowers, I’ve owned mine since 2005 & was considering getting a new one next year, guess I’ll look towards honda instead

I’ve had 2 Honda mowers, including this same model. I assumed my experience with the first one was an anomaly sauce Honda has such a great reputation. This model required rebuilding the carb twice a year, even after I switched to TruFuel. Then the governor broke. Repair shop said mine was second one in a month with same problem, he showed me several he had behind his shop all scrapped for parts due to failure of the governor. He said some extended warranty companies won cover them anymore, I’ve had Toro and John Deere riding mowers, the Toro lasted over 10 years. I’ll never buy another Honda.

Anna Curmudgeon says:

How do you keep it so clean? 🙂

Chris DIYer says:

Honda engines…sounds quiet too.

I only use my pushmower for mulching and i currently own a toro timemaster and I am sooooo mad. Bottoms out all the time and gets clogged with the slightest amount of moisture on the lawn. Would i be happy mulching thick grass with this mower? Or should i look elsewhere?

Ran across this video reviewing this mower and we live in the same area. Small world. Thanks for the video

First Impressions: I just bought the same mower u have there. Tried it out for about 15 minutes and I’ve never had a walk-behind mower do a wheelie before. This thing will take off and drag u around the yard if u let it. Seems the 3 and 1 speed control can be real sensitive to touch for me. But I suppose I have to get use to it. I was a Snapper man before and love their walk behinds. My 16 year snapper got into some high wet grass and committed suicide by drinking up all its oil. Every dealer I called that supposedly sold them are not doing so anymore. Seems like Briggs and Stratton bought them out. I could have ordered one on-line but I was concerned about how long a delivery would be. So now I own a Honda I bought for Home Depot for same price u did. I needed one right away. I noticed there is no throttle control with this model. Looks to be well made but time will tell.Anyway enjoyed your video. Thanks.

Terry Rodbourn says:

You should get a battery powered Lawn Mower from Home Depot!

question…does the warrenty cover belts and cables? thanks.

Honda 21 in.self propelled lawnmower model HRR 216 VKAA Mower rears up a lot .
The rear wheels get slick real quick and it has poor traction.wheels on front get out of alignment easily. motor drive pulley and drive belt wears out fast.
