As a Prosumer level tool, Craftsman competes well in performance but the pricing needs to come down to grab more market share. There might be some Pro interest in this system, but without a heavy-duty model, it’ll be limited.

What exactly happens when they say Made in USA with global materials? Is it marketing mainly? I don’t know. Is it truly an important job that someone has to do in the USA? I don’t know. Was it engineered and designed by Americans? I dont know. Does Assembly in the USA automatically make it better quality? My opinion, No. Stanley Black and Decker should disclose what this means. I’d like to know officially.

Chris Philhower says:

Are the Batteries the same as Dewalt? Or are the “Keyed” differently to prevent swapping?

Zim Tage says:

Yeah no

I like the look of Craftsman have yet to use one and I probably will not at that price I rather buy a Ridgid hammer drill my r861162sb kit can hold up with that Craftsman hammer drill perfectly and I got at home Depot for $79 on sale what the regular price of $99.00 yes it has two 1.5ah batteries no bag or case when she gets 750 inch pounds of torque 2100 RPM and it’s got BPM 26 000 which at that price point is not bad metal Chuck Jacobs but you’re right about the Milwaukee at that price point it might as well just buy the Milwaukee they can make it $149.00 that will work. When it comes to my Ridgid well that got to do with purchase a couple of either 2.0 ah or one 4.0ah battery and I’m good to go I have one 4.0 ah already because I got my impact driver separately as a bare tool in October

Lance Hanson says:

Similar to Dewalt? I wonder why…. it’s owned by Stanley Black and Decker now…. as you said. For the price I can get an actual DeWalt.
