2016 Bosch 18V Compact Tough EC Brushless Drill & Hammer Drill Review DDS183 HDS183 GSB GSR 18 V-EC

I go over the newest Bosch 18V Compact tough drill and hammer drill that feature the EC Brushless motor. These pack a lot of performance in possibly the most compact form factor to date.

Bosch introduced a set of EC Brushless 18V Compact Drills back in 2014 with the DDS182 and the HDS182. At the time they were possibly the most compact 18V drills at the time and featured good performance and the new compact drills in this video are the newest models DDS183 & HDS183 with added power yet in a more compact package. How is that possible?

victor feliciano says:

Sohail Ahmad says:

Hi Javier, great review. I have the HDS183 which I bought last year when it came out. just wanted to ask about the torque settings. when driving screws, other drills I’m used the torque setting kicking in and “hammering” in the last few turns. with the HDS183 I don’t get that, I only get about 1 second of the torque kicking in then the drill stops. is this a normal feature or could my drill be faulty? when in reverse and trying to unscrew something tight the torque kicks in and doesn’t stop until the screw is loosened enough to come out. any ideas? thanks

Joe McIntyre says:

Havir, as usual factual, instructive honest review, thanks for sharing. Kindest regards. Joe.

victor feliciano says:

the key i am looking for is this, i need compact but also need high torque so i am thinking between the two unit which one? the bosch hds-183 or the milwaukee 2702 , i know both are brushless. main question a few month ago at lowes i got model bosch hds-183-02 i had to return it because lack of power the box said peak torque 475, this is the hammer drill model. are you saying that the bosch model hds-183-01 has more power?????? i dont understand– 01 comes with two 4amps battery and the 02 come with 2amp right, my main point is the drill on the bosch model are they the same in both kits? you are saying 531 in-lbs or 475 in-lbs??????? i dont get this..

Ruben Rivera says:

awesome they r good 4 everything

victor feliciano says:

question, where can i buy these item ? are they out yet? bosch hds183 hammer drill. nice video

BeachBum68 says:

So in your opinion, this is better than the new (2016) DeWalt or Milwaukee Fuel drills?

DMDMD says:

Well explained. Thanks.

yea your back !!! and yea bosch is back with some new tools !!

Cody Robertson says:

Great review. All high torque drills should have the kickback feature on them to protect the user. I really like the free spinning tip on the drill chuck I have never seen it before. Can’t wait to see your next review.

hectortoledo5914 says:

wow the vid quality is spot on good job

Tgif Dad says:

awesome little drill

Joshua Burgess says:

Great review as always, and very neat tools with lots of power and some neat features. One thing that seemed a bit odd was the lack of removable side handle for at least the hammer drill, but they do seem to have good kickback protection.

Joe McIntyre says:

Javier, sorry got you name wrong there! Joe.

Lucas Molina says:

Great review. Just out of curiosity, have you had a chance to take a look at the new Porter Cable brushless drill/driver and impact driver?
