I find that after having several glue guns, I really tremendously like the power and convenience of a Butane powered version. Mine is self-lighting, allows for fine adjustment of power level, and has a totally enclosed flame, so it only spits out hot air. Compared to batteries, I believe that butane is just much better for this kind of tool, and it allows for quick refilling rather that battery charging, and it also ditches the cord which prevents tripping etc. In practice, I find working on projects with electric glue guns leads to a need for an extension cord, and the cord really gets in the way and makes it harder to maneuver.
