Ok recent up date on dremel #4. I have to report that it has died as well. I am communicating with dremel about this issue, have sent them videos on how i use it and also checked the electrics in my workshop. I have also followed their using advice, not running it more than 15 minutes at a time and stopping if it gets warm. As you saw on the video, dremel 4 seemed to have issues rigjt from the box. Dremel no#5 has been delivered. Seems great so far. Looking at my tool log, I think I can expect about 25 to 30 hours of life for it

Johnathon, Had planned to use a Dremel knockoff by Wen, with a flexible shaft. Tried it with Maple and pine. Seriously under-powered. Present for my brother who’s Dremel quit but he used it with harder materials. I purchased a unit that might interest you from Amazon here in USA this is the unit, possibly can be found in UK?
Professional Woodworker 51984 1/3-Hp flex Shaft Grinder/Carver Motor and shaft are impressive.
