BEST INDEPTH Stihl MS250 Chainsaw Review – Great homestead chainsaw for firewood

I take a look at my MS250 which i’ve had for 4 our 5 years now. I cut 8 cords of wood at least a year and this has been flawless. You get what you pay for, this saw was $400 or so i believe and I’ve replaced the chain every year (cheaper than getting it sharpened professionally) but nothing else has ever gone wrong on it and its never failed to start for me.

Highly recommended, this is their second smallest saw i believe but perfect for the small homestead. I cut 8 cords of hardwood a year which i get in 8 foot lengths.

I replaced the 325 chain for the 3/8 big difference.

I got a Stihl weed eater, and love it, but I went with Husqvarna, as it was cheaper, and actualy runs great!!! Had it 4 years now, and never a problem! One thing I would highly recommend, is that you wear good work boots, and get some chainsaw chaps, very important to keep those legs in one piece!! Great review by the way! Cheers!

I have the MS250. Mine is about 15 years old. When it runs it runs well. However I have always had a bitch of a time starting it. I have to F&ck around with the choke so often. I also find those European control  labels a complete joke. WTF is “O”. On or Off. Same with my Stihl weed whacker. Now I have to admit that dropping my chainsaw from the roof a few years ago didn’t help in keeping it in tune. Other than that my MS250 runs really well. But I laugh when I see someone starting this model with one hand and the saw between their legs. No way with mine . The compression even after 15 years of normal use is tight as can be. Just my comments.
